Brumby's Run agistment is managed by Victoria Jones, who has over 25 years experience working with horses. She is qualified in advanced horse management and has spent time working with vets treating sick and injured horses.
In addition to traditional style paddocks Brumby's Run also offers you another concept of grazing, based on Jaime Jackson's "Pasture Paradise" developed in the United States.
This form of grazing stimulates horses to behave and move naturally according to their instincts with greater movement meaning natural hoof wear thus resulting in fewer bills and happier, healthier horse both phisically and emotionally.
Paddock Paradise consists of a track running around the perimeter of the property. This track incorporates many interesting obstacles for the horse such as water, rocks, timbered areas, sand rolls, etc.
The idea is that the horses keep moving as they do in the wild, thus using their feet and limbs in climbing up and down and across obstacles as opposed to merely grazing in one area, often resulting in lack of excercise, boredom and over eating which in many cases can lead to founder.
It has been proved that horses grazing on the "Pasture Paradise" system have less weight related problems. It also helps to address neurotic behaviour by providing natural outlets and is an excellent cure or rehabilitation for lame or laminitic horses.
